The Dream Collectors began as a response to the relentless offering of dreams through media, advertisements, magazines… A process of collecting other people’s dreams – those of neighbors, bloggers, elites, fabricated dreams – has begun, making them increasingly impersonal.
The purpose of a life dream is blurred with mere desires, and the process of creating one’s own life has turned into an empty game.
The Dream Collectors are entities, ethereal beings who see the harvest of dreams as a game that lasts only a moment. Their personal joy is a responsibility they’ve taken on in creating that one moment when dreams are present. The process of shaping dreams lasts only an instant, which immediately flows into the next moment, and so on into eternity. This is why the Dream Collectors are depicted with fluid, curling, and soft lines on a smooth canvas surface, like rays of colored light unified into a unique, delicate whole.
Due to the unpredictable nature of dreams, the gatherers must launch themselves, spin, fly, using their hands to manipulate the vortex. The circular motion of the spiral is embedded within them, like a maple seed seeking soil and sprouting. Thus, this unpredictable line seems to shift between many shapes. The series currently includes nine larger-format paintings and about thirty smaller works on canvas, all created with acrylic paint on canvas.
