Compass Mosaic 2020 in the public area at Porto Montenegro Village in Tivat, Montenegro

The front, where the main picture is, the sides, and the upper wall—all of which are a part of the primary image—make up the composition of the compass mosaic. The project was started from scratch for a total area of 9.4 m2, from conceptual design to mosaic execution.

Traditional mosaic techniques are a mechanical and contemplative craft challenge. Putting one little stone piece next to another, then another, and continuing in this manner until the mosaic image is visible. Every move should be made with the rhythm and flow of a design in mind, including where each stone should go.
