Ecstasy of Love, a new series of paintings I began in 2021, expands on the ideas presented in Tactility of Feelings, an earlier series of paintings. The primary starting materials for these paintings are still paper and colored gauze. Given that paper and gauze were combined in the picture of The Tactility of Feelings with oil as a heavy and greasy texture, telling of the weight that the earth has in us.

Each painting in this series is made using much lighter water media, giving the artwork a more ethereal mood and poetics. Like butterfly wings, the touches between the fabrics are thinner. They are now piled up on the same canvas, touching one another and leaning against one another. Speaking of the strength of love, they stack on top of one another like the ground underneath us has done for millennia.
