The tactile engagement of materials, textures, and forms served as the inspiration for the mixed-media paintings, Tactility of Feeling (2016-present).

The way a piece of clothing feels on my skin or the sounds I hear around me can both have an impact on my paintings. The majority of the material nevertheless contributes to the tone and content of the piece even if it isn’t used. I enjoy learning about new possibilities that painting might open up for me in this creative process of possibilities.

The series focuses on mastering the softness and fragility of the material. Here, the wordless connection between mind and hands is demonstrated by cutting, gluing, coloring, and dyeing with every touch the hand may sense and realize by executing on hand-dyed gauze, paper, canvas, oil, and acrylic.
